WEBINAR | We are organising a webinar with the Radicalisation Awareness Network (29 January 2024)
The FRISCO partnership warmly invites participants to a webinar discussing Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (P/CVE) with speakers from the Radicalisation Awareness Network (RAN).
The webinar titled Preventing and countering violent extremism online: a discussion with the Radicalisation Awareness Network (RAN) takes place online on Monday 29 January 2024 between 10:00 – 13:00CET.
In our efforts to raise awareness and support small tech companies, we promote a comprehensive approach to tackling terrorist content and fostering compliance with the Regulation on Terrorist Content Online (TCO). By doing so, we are aiming to help prevent and counter violent extremism online and to create a safer online environment.
Preventing and countering violent extremism online requires a two-pronged approach. First, we need to know what we are fighting against, so to say gaining a better understanding of the online threat and related radicalisation processes. Second, online platforms need to be equipped with the appropriate information, resources, and capacities to tackle the exploitation of their services and comply with EU Regulations.
To address these two dimensions, we are delighted to welcome speakers from the Radicalisation Awareness Network (RAN) to our webinar. First, thanks to the RAN Policy Support, a network supporting the European Commission and facilitating exchanges among policymakers, we will focus on P/CVE analysis and what we currently know about violent extremism online. Then, thanks to the RAN Practitioners, a network of frontline practitioners who work with radicalised people, we will find out how we can help curbing the phenomenon, focusing on first hand experiences and approaches to P/CVE. We will also present FRISCO activities, tools, and results.
Don’t miss the opportunity to take part in the discussion!
