The FRISCO project actively participated in the final conference of sibling ALLIES project, which was held in Athens on 20 February 2025. Representatives the FRISCO project at the conference were Dr. Athanasios Davvetas of coordinator NCSR Demokritos and Pierre Sivignon of CIVIPOL who delivered key insights during panel discussions on the day.

During his talk in Panel 3: Artificial Intelligence vs. Counter-Terrorism and Criminality, Dr. Davvetas highlighted the critical role of interdisciplinarity, showing how a multifaceted approach can effectively address the risks associated with AI in different sectors. He also presented AI and non-AI tools developed within EU projects such as FRISCO and DeployAI, aimed at supporting stakeholders in complying with European regulations. Additionally, he highlighted additional initiatives in in the context of AI research and AI ethics.

Further reinforcing the theme of collaboration, Mr. Sivignon contributed to the TCO Cluster panel, stressing the importance of synergy among sibling projects to enhance efforts against online terrorist content. This discussion highlighted the collective need for stronger cooperation and technological innovation in the fight against digital threats.

The ALLIES project was represented by Mrs. Denitsa Kozhuharova (ALLIES Project Coordinator, Law and Internet Foundation).

The conference featured key contributions from Mrs. Friederike Wegener (DG-HOME, Policy Officer), Mrs. Koralia Kontou (DG-HOME, FRISCO & ALLIES Project Officer). Their discussions provided valuable insights into the regulatory, operational, and technological challenges associated with tackling terrorist content online.

By engaging in the ALLIES Final Conference, the FRISCO Project continues to support European efforts in AI governance, security, and compliance, fostering innovative solutions to address emerging challenges in the digital landscape.
